The Pin Fernando Grand Prix 2017 May Edition is picking up steam and the scene shifts to Nuwara Eliya Golf Club from May 2 to 5.
B.A. Sanjeewa -- the overall leader of the Grand Prix will face stiff opposition from Amarapadma, Sisira Kumara, youngsters Pradeep Bandara, Chalitha Pushpika, Chanaka Perera, Junior Champion Akash, Januka Dilshan, Lamindu Rainika and other players from the Sri Lanka Navy, Army and Air Force.
The Nuwara Eliya local challenge will be led by Soundararaj, Jayasena and Vinod Kumar who will specially arrive in Sri Lanka for the event, as he works in the middle- east.
The NEGC, a challenging course is sure to deliver a very interesting finish to the competition.
The 130th Sri Lanka Amateur Championship was to follow in May, but due to the need to increase international participation in this prestigious Championship, the Golf Union has rescheduled the Championship to October 15th – 21st, 2017.
The Pin Fernando Grand Prix is the platform to develop the Sri Lankan Amateur Golfing talent and the Monthly Grand Prix played in rotation has been played in February in VGCR, Digana, RCGC Colombo and the other Golf Courses in Sri Lanka are also listed to host the remaining editions of the Pin Fernando Grand Prix powered by Cat Solar, sponsored by United Tractor and Equipment –UTE.
