Sachin de Silva registered a famous victory at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) Course, leading the Lectra Grand Prix 2019 September Edition from the first to the fourth round, posting an Even Par final round to complete a famous victory 4 strokes clear of veteran J.M.D. Indika on Saturday.
Indika in turn claimed the runner-up spot 3 strokes ahead of B.A. Sanjeewa, whose best fourth round score of 68 (3 under par) helped clinch the third place 2 strokes clear of Rajok N. Amarapadma.
Sachin de Silva’s four-round total of 278, six under par aggregate is a very creditable performance, considering the fact that Indika, the runner-up, is the only other golfer to finish the four rounds aggregate score below par.
Apparel Technologies, member of the Bobbin Group sponsor the Lectra Grand Prix 2019 Series, which is being conducted as a monthly four-round Grand Prix event.
The series is counted for the WAGR (World Amateur Golf Rankings), maintained by R and A, ensuring and rewarding the top ranked amateur golfers in the Asia Pacific Region.
The final round of golf was followed by a solemn prize giving with the sponsor represented along with the Sri Lanka Golf Union staff members.
