The Lectra Grand Prix 2019 August Edition got underway at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), sponsored by Apparel Technologies member of the Bobbin Group of Companies supporting the annual Grand Prix Rankings valid for the WAGR (World Amateur Golf Rankings) standings.
Veteran golfer B.A. Sanjeewa once again got into the pole position from day one, with a steady Even Par 71 at the picturesque RCGC in topping condition.
M.H. Chalitha Pushpika regained his form that he lost for a while and returned a 2 over par 73 to share joint second place with another consistent veteran J.M.D. Indika.
Following in joint fourth place one stroke behind, yet another veteran N. Amarapadma and reigning Sri Lanka National Amateur champion M.U. Chanaka Perera complete the top five with just 3 strokes separating the leading bunch.
Youngster Januka Dilshan and overall Grand Prix standings leader Sisira Kumara are in joint sixth place 5 strokes behind the leader and the contest is expected to hot-up and get interesting as each and every Lectra monthly Grand Prix produces.
