Campbell International School and Musaeus College clinched the Boys’ and Girls’ overall titles respectively at the Sri Lanka Schools Junior Gymnastic Championships worked off at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
The meet was conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Gymnastic Association and the Ministry of Education.
Royal College Colombo emerged runners-up in the Boys’ Championship while Viharamaha Devi BMV came second in the Girls’ Championship.
Royal College emerged Under-15 overall champions followed by Ananda College and St. Benedict’s College.
Meanwhile, Isipathana College won the Gym for Life Group ‘A’ Boys’ title while Ananda College and Gurukula College came second and third respectively.
In addition, Mahamaya BMV Kadawatha took the Gym for Life Group ‘A’ Girls’ championship while Visakha BMV Colombo and Visakha BMV Sapugaskanda were placed second and third respectively.
Over 675 competitors (Boys’ and Girls’) participated in the gymnastic events while over 2,800 competitors participated in the Gym for Life events.

The Colombo High Court today (28) sentenced former parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra to three years of Rigorous Imprisonment over charges of the involvement of an abduction.
In his special statement, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that debt restructuring agreements will postpone all bilateral loan payments to foreign countries until 2028. Additionally, Sri Lanka will have until 2043 to repay these loans on concessional terms.
