The 4th Matale Thomians’ All-Island Schools Hockey 7s 2018, conducted by the Matale Old Thomians’ Hockey Association got underway from Sunday (3) at the Edward Park, Matale.
Twenty eight Under 20 teams representing leading hockey playing schools island-wide will seen in action at this mega event.
Singer Sri Lanka and Peoples Bank are the main sponsors of the tournament.
The chief guests for the opening ceremony was Matale Mayor Daljith Aliwihare and present principal of St. Thomas', Matale K.A.J. Kulasooriya.
Chief guests at the award presentation will be Sri Lanka army Major General Shavendra Silva, Kumar Samarasinghe Director Marketing of Singer Sri Lanka PLC, Wasantha Kumar Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of People's Bank, Alfred Madugalla Managing Director Diana Chocolates Co. , Deputy Vice Chancellor NSBM Green University Town Chaminda Rathnayaka and B.S.K. Jayasinghe General Manager (Sales) Sri Lanka Telecom.
