Hockey: Air Force 'Whites' lift 20th Vijayans Trophy 7s title

Sri Lanka Air Force SC (Whites) walked away with the coveted 'Vijayans Trophy ' and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.00 as they outplayed defending champions Police Sports Club by 1-0 in the closely contested Men's Cup final at the 20th Vijayans Trophy All-Island Open Inter-Club Hockey Sevens Tournament 2019 for men and women which was concluded at Edward Park Hockey ground in Matale.

K. Madushan, who was later named the Best Player, scored the winning goal for Air Force Whites.

The two-day hockey tournament conducted by Matale Old Vijayans Sports Club together with Matale Vijaya College Past Pupils' Association, attracted 16 men's club teams which was played for cup, plate and bowl championships.
