The Old Thomians' Hockey Union (OTHU) and St Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia are organising an inaugural Indoor Hockey camp on Sunday (20) from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at its Sports Complex in Mount Lavinia.
Indoor hockey is a very popular game in Europe and an experience conductor of the game from Holland, Japp Suyk had already arrived in the island. Japp is very keen in introducing and promoting the game in Sri Lanka.
The inaugural camp will be participated firstly by St. Thomas' Mt. Lavinia and St. Thomas' Matale.
The Old Thomians' Hockey Union is planning to invite schools from all over the island for future camps to educate rules and the technique of the game and later to an inter schools competition level.
The game will be played on a board floor similar to the floor of a badminton court with specially designed sticks and along with other equipments will be provided by Japp for this inaugural event.
