Hockey: Sri Lanka's junior stickers eye top position in Singapore tournament

Sri Lanka's junior stickers are geared to aim for a top three position at the inaugural Air Asia Women's Junior AHF (Asian Hockey Federation) Tournament which begins on Monday (9) at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium, Singapore. 

Six countries will be participating in this tournament which will continue until September 15. 

Conducted on a league basis, the other participating countries are Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh Singapore, Hong Kong and Uzbekistan. 

Sri Lanka will meet Chinese Taipei in their opening match on Monday (9), Bangladesh on September 10, Singapore on September 12, Hong Kong on September 14, and Uzbekistan on September 15. 

September 11 and 13 are rest days for the tournament. 

The Sri Lanka team arrived in Singapore on Friday (6) and immediately started training vigorously for the competition. 

Coach Milan Boteju says that the Sri Lanka team is in prime condition and are ready to give a good fight against Chinese Taipei.
