Sri Lanka named a 15-man squad for the five-match One Day International (ODI) series against India, which will begin with the first game at Dambulla on Sunday (20).
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) selectors have not named the Test captain Dinesh Chandimal in the ODI squad , which includes two uncapped players and two more recalled.
Allrounders Thisara Perera and Milinda Siriwardana have been recalled into the ODI squad after a brief lapse while left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara and the left-arm seamer Vishwa Fernando are the two rookies to earn a calling.
Among players who were dropped are the injured pair of Nuwan Pradeep and Asela Gunaratne in addition to fast bowlers Asitha Fernando, Nuwan Kulasekara and Lahiru Kumara, who were all part of the ODI squad in the recent series against Zimbabwe played in July.
This will be the very first full ODI series Upul Tharanga will be leading Sri Lanka as the team's full-time ODI captain.
