Sri Lanka Women's Kabbadi team won a bronze medal at the 4th Asian Women's Kabadi championship held in the city of Busan, South Korea organised and conducted by the Asian Kabbadi Federation last week.

In the preliminary round Sri Lanka defeated Japan, Thailand and Iraq and lost to South Korea in the semi-finals.

In this game against Korea Sri Lanka were just one point behind the Koreans but failed to maintain it to the end where the Koreans ended up winners 16-11.

In the other semi-final Thailand defeated Iraq to enter finals.
