The International Chief Instructor of the Wado Ryu Karate Do Association, Kyoshi Dr. Alejandro Enrico Vasquez (Black Belt - 7th Dan, WKF) was in Sri Lanka for a 2-day Karate Seminar on the invitation of the Sri Lanka Wado Ryu Karate Do Association and its President and Chief Instructor, Shihan W.M. Seneviratne (Black belt -5th Dan Wado Ryu).
The Seminar took place on September 14 and 15, 2016, at the Gymnasium of the University of Peradeniya.
In this 2-day Seminar, Kyoshi Dr. Vasquez explained the crux of movements, refining the application of Kata and Kumite.
His special emphasis was on the philosophy and norms of the heart of Wado Ryu Karate Do.
The Seminar ended with 15 senior students undergoing a grading test for the Black Belt 1st to 4th Dans.
Kyoshi Dr. Alejandro Enrico G. Vasquez is the President of the Philippines Karate Federation and President and Chief Instructor of the Philippines Wado Ryu Karate Do Renmi.
He underwent instruction under 2nd Grandmaster of Wado Ryu Karate, Jiro Otsuka (Otsuka II) who was the son of the creator of Wado Ryo Karate Do, Hironori Otsuka.
