John Keells and MAS Unichela will be looking for sweet revenge over LB Finance and Sampath Bank respectively, when they meet each other in the semi-finals of the 27th Singer-MCA Premier League Limited Overs Knockout Tournament.
In their League clash, LB Finance demolished John Keells by 10 wickets on October 17, at the BRC Grounds, while Sampath Bank beat MAS Unichela by 4 wickets on November 7 at the P. Sara Oval.
So far, in the Knockouts, John Keells beat the SLC Under-19 team by 48 runs on D/L in a match reduced to 37 overs-a-side due to wet grounds conditions, while MAS scored a comfortable 4-wicket win over Hayleys with 24 overs to spare. Sampath Bank recorded a comprehensive 5-wicket win over last year's runners-up Dimo, with 20 overs to spare.
The first semi-final between LB Finance (League winner with a ‘bye’) and John Keells will take place on Tuesday (19), at the MCA, while the second semi-final between Sampath Bank and MAS will be played on Wednesday (20) at the NCC ground.
Last season, MAS Silueta won the Knockout title, beating Dimo by 165 runs in the final.
The winners of the two semi-finals will advance to play each other in the final scheduled for next Saturday (23).
