The 8th Prestige Automobile (Pvt) Ltd. sponsored MCA 'C' Division 50-over League Cricket Tournament for the BMW/Hyundai' Trophy will get underway this weekend with the participation of ten teams divided into two groups.
In the previous year's tournament, Kanrich Finance emerged champions defeating Citizens Development Business Finance by 23 runs in D/L method and walked away with the glittering BMW/Hyundai' trophy.
The tournament will be conducted in two stages - the League, containing 20 matches and the Knockout, containing seven matches.
The League stage will start from this weekend and will go on till February 24.
At the completion of Round Robin matches, the first four teams of each group will advance to the quarter-finals.
The quarters are scheduled to be played on March 2 and 3 with the semi-finals and finals will be played on March 9 and March 16 respectively at the MCA Grounds.
Special awards will be presented to the Best Batsman, Bowler, Man of the Series and Man of the Finals.
The sponsorship cheque presentation ceremony was held last Wednesday at the 'The Pitch' of the MCA at the media conference.
The following teams in two groups will be:
Group 'A': Nations Trust Bank 'A', J.L. Morisons, Standard Chartered Bank, Commercial Bank 'A' and Asia Asset Finance
Group 'B': Peoples Leasing & Finance, Pyramid Wilmer, HNB Finance, PABC Bank and Commercial Leasing.
