MCA Cricket: Division 'G' quarter-finals today

Four League stage Group leaders were eliminated while Amana Takaful Insurance (ATI), MAS Linea Aqua (MAS.LA), fairfirst Insurance (fairfirst), Bimputh Finance (Bimputh), Mobitel, Nor Lanka, Deutsche Bank AG (DB AG) and Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) advanced to the quarterfinals of the 8th Stafford Motor Co. (Pvt) Ltd.-'Honda' Trophy–MCA 'G' Division 25-Over League Tournament 2018,continued with the pre-quarterfinals last weekend. 

League stage Group leaders, Asiri Hospitals [Asiri ('A')] Interpharm ('E'), SriLankan Airlines [SriLankan ('F')] and Coats Thread [Coats ('G' )] were defeated by ATI, Mobitel, Nor Lanka and DB.AG, respectively. 

Migara Wickramasinghe (54 not out) was the match-winner for ATI over Asiri. 

Tharik Nasseen (3/25) and Krishan Weeraratne (3/30) bowled Mobitel to victory over Interpharm. 

Good batting by Thushan Tissera (62 not out), along with a fine spell of bowling by Kasun Jayasinghe (4/34), steered Nor Lanka to win over SriLankan. 

DB.AG’s medium pacers, Nilan de Silva (2/16), Niranjan Dabare (3/15) and Praveen Fernando (3/24) restricted Coats to 121/9 in 25 overs, to win comfortably. 

The quarter-finals will be played on Sunday (26). 

At the MCA ground Amana Taka Insurance will meet MAS Linea Aqua (morning) and fairfirst Insurance will meet Bimputh Finance later in the afternoon.

At Thurstan ground Mobitel will take on Nor Lanka in the morning while the Deutsche Bank AG vs Sri Lanka Telecom will be played in the afternoon.

ATI beat Asiri by 5 wickets: Asiri- 135 (24.4 overs); Amana- 138/5 (23 overs) 

MAS.LA beat Waters Edge by 52 runs: MAS.LA- 126 (25 overs); Waters Edge- 74 (20.2 overs) 

Mobitel beat Interpharm by 15 runs: Mobitel- 140/6 (25 overs); Interpharm- 125 (23.3 overs) 

Nor Lanka beat SriLankan by 19 runs: Nor Lanka- 199/8 (25 overs); Sri Lankan- 180 (23.5 overs) 

fairfirst beat Pearson Lanka (Pearson) by 8 wkts: Pearson’s- 149/7 (25 overs); fairfirst- 150/2 (18.2 overs) 

Bimputh beat Access Group (Access) by 3 runs: Bimputh- 125 (22.1 overs); Access- 122/7 (25 overs) 

DB.AG beat Coats by 6 wkts: Coats- 121/9 (25 overs); DB.AG- 122/4 (21.3 overs)
 
SLT beat Allaris Lanka by 60 runs: SLT- 197/6 (25 overs); Allaris- 137/6 (25 overs)
