The much awaited MCA Open Cricket Sixes, organised by the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA), will be held from Friday (30) with the finals scheduled to be played on Sunday (1) at several venues around Colombo.
Citizens Development Business Finance PLC had joined hands with MCA for the third consecutive year in sponsoring the event.
This MCA organised annual tournament has been a beloved cricketing fiesta in the island for the last 30 years.
Over 50 teams will be participating in both Tier 'A' and Tier 'B' segments.
Tier 'A' matches will be held at the MCA and Colts grounds with nine teams playing at each location while the Tier 'B' segment will have 12 teams playing at the MCA, Wijerama Mawatha, Campbell Park and Mattegoda grounds.
The post-tournament awards ceremony will take place after the finals at MCA on Sunday (1).
Trophies will be presented to teams and individuals in both Tier 'A' and 'B' segments including the championship and runner-up trophies.
Five special awards will be presented for each Tier in the categories of Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Most Number of Sixes, Man of the Match and Man of the Tournament.
