The curtain will come down on another year of adrenaline filled motor racing next Saturday (21) when the superstars of Sri Lanka’s racetracks are honoured at the 2015 CEAT-SLADA Championship Awards. A total of 17 awards including the four top awards for Best Driver, Best Rider, the Team Championship for Cars and the Team Championship for Motorbikes will be presented at these glamorous awards gala. Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera will be the Chief Guest. This year’s event will see the presentation of awards to nine individual supporting champions and four awards to the best drivers and riders at team events, as well as the presentation of awards of appreciation to the regiments that organised the race meets in the year’s calendar and the sponsors of the events. Performances at the five major race meets of 2015 -- the Fox Hill Super Cross, Sigiriya Rally Cross, Gunners Super Cross, Gajaba Super Cross and Rotherham Katukurunda Circuit Meet were considered for this year’s CEAT SLADA Championship Awards.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
