On the request of the youth netball coaches the Sri Lanka Netball Federation decided on Saturday (10) that the selection of the Sri Lanka Youth Netball team be postponed.
The World Youth Netball Championships is scheduled to be held from July 8 to 16 in Botswana.
The team was due to be announced on Saturday (10).
Coaches, senior players and officials met yesterday at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium and said that the selection of the team should be delayed as the team needed more practice.
The national selection committee too agreed for the postponement.
The final selection date has not been finalised as yet.
There are 22 members in the pool out of which 12 players and three standbys will be selected.
