Sanjeewani Wanasinghe, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Netball Federation has tendered her resignation from the post with immediate effect.
The letter of her resignation was sent to the President of the Netball Federation and a copy to the Minister of Sports, Dayasiri Jayasekera.
Incidentally Wanasinghe becomes the sixth elected office-bearer to resign from the Federation.
Earlier three vice-presidents - Champa Gunawardene, Devi Aponso and C.M.K. Kumarihamy resigned from their positions followed by Treasurer Sudharma Jayawardene and Tournament Secretary P.D. Prasadi.
The reason that was given by these outgoing officials is that they are not satisfied with the administration as they are not in a position to perform their duties independently.
Sanjeewani Wanasinghe having a load of experience in netball as she is involved with the game as the secretary of the Mercantile Netball Association for a long period.
Wanasinghe, a former national player who was a member of the national team in 1995 that took part in the World Netball championship held in Bermingham.
