Pak in SL: Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets to snatch series 2-1

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in the third and final Test match to clinch the three-match Test series 2-1 at Pallekele today (7).   Chasing 377 for victory Pakistan reached the target before tea on the final day after opener Shan Masood and Younis Khan anchored with a useful partnership of 242 for the third wicket.   Masood made 125 off 233 deliveries while Khan remained unbeaten on 177 after facing 271 balls.   Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq was unbeaten on 59 off 103 deliveries when Pakistan reached the winning post.   Put into bat Sri Lanka made 278 in their first innings and bowled out Pakistan for 215.   Skipper Angelo Mathews hit an enterprising knock of 122 off 252 deliveries in Sri Lanka’s second innings after the top order failed and his knock helped the home side post 313 after an early collapse.   Younis Khan was named the man of the match while leg-spinner won the man of the series award.   Sri Lanka   First innings 278 all out (89.5) (Dimuth Karunaratne 130, Upul Tharanga 46, Dinesh Chandimal 24, Jehan Mubarak 25, Tharindu Kaushal 18, Yasir Shah 5/78, Rahat Ali 3/74, Azhar Ali 2/35) Second innings 313 all out (95.4) (Upul Tharanga 48, Angelo Mathews 122, Jehan Mubarak 35, Dinesh Chandimal 67, Imran Khan 5/58, Yasir Shah 2/80, Rahat Ali 2/82)   Pakistan   First innings 215 all out (66) (Ahmed Shehzad 21, Azhar Ali 52, Asad Shafiq 15, Sarfraz Ahmed 78, Yasir Shah 18, Tharindu Kaushal 3/37, Nuwan Pradeep 3/29, Dhammika Prasad 3/78) Second innings (Target 377) 382 for 3 wickets (103.1) (Shan Masood 125, Younis Khan 171n.o, Misbah-ul-Haq 59n.o.)
