President Maithripala Sirisena handed over the annual report of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Shashank Manohar yesterday (Aug 24).
Mr Manohar joined by his wife and ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khawaja had called on the President at his official residence in Colombo, a statement from the SLC said.
During the discussion, Mr. Sirisena had emphasised the importance of keeping a sport free of political intervention and influence.
Talks had also revolved around developing cricket in Sri Lanka, SLC said in a statement.
SLC Chairman Shammi Silva and his predecessor Thilanga Sumathipala were present at the meeting.
The ICC Chairman is in the country on a four day official visit which began on August 23.
