Air Force SC recorded a stunning 24-21 win against defending title holders Kandy SC in their first round match of the Dialog Division 'A' League Rugby Tournament played at Ratmalana today (12).
Air Force went out with full force and led throughout the game as they took the halftime with a 21-7 lead to keep Kandy SC at bay.
Kandy, fielding a young side, bounced back but they could not overtake the Airmen at any point and were made to struggle as the game took a different turn with both teams locked at 21 points each.
Both teams have scored three converted tries but a crucial penalty in the latter stage sealed the game in favour of Air Force.
