Certificates were presented to the successful participants of the inaugural Rugby Match Commissioner Programme, conducted by Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) together with its main sponsor Dialog Axiata PLC.
The presentation ceremony was held at the 'Scrum Down' of CR&FC at Longdon Place where the chief organiser, Ana Wijeratne invited the Minister of Sports, Harin Fernando to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
"Sri Lanka Rugby and Mr. Ana Wijeratne have done a good job in expanding the sport on avenues we hardly intend to look into. It's a good move to the sustainability of the sport," Minister Fernando , stated during his speech.
A total of 26 individuals participated in the two-day training programme which covered many topics and areas pertaining to match commissioning.
After the positive response from the two-day programme, the SLR is planning in holding similar projects, while the participants who went through the initial programme will be utilized for future events, according to Wijeratne.
