Hosts CR&FC finally achieved what they were aiming for seasons, putting an end to Kandy Sport Club’s winning streak and recording a thrilling 27-all draw in the second round match of the Dialog Division ‘A’ Rugby Tournament at Longdon Place today (31). After a disastrous start, which left them trailing by 3-17 at halftime, the Red Shirts regrouped to shackle the Kandy outfit and add 24 more points to their tally after Robbie Malneek scored the vital try to even the scores. Kandy had their plans intact in the first half; where they scored from three tries and a conversion and went on to add another converted try and a penalty but CR were relentless after the turnaround. They were given the room to score from a penalty in the first half but three converted tries and a penalty is all they needed to level the final tally.
