Four Sri Lanka coaches, namely Shamly Nawaz, Rajiv Perera, Rohitha Rajapaksa and Duminda Silva, were chosen to take part in a special Educational Programme for Coaches of World Rugby (WR).
The four coaches will become WR Rugby Instructors after completing the training programme.
WR Coaching Instructor Viper Gunaratne conducted the training programme, which was held under the patronage of Sri Lanka Rugby.
The four coaches -- Nawaz, Perera, Rajapaksa and Silva -- will work under Sri Lanka's only WR qualified Coaching Instructor for a period of one year, before they are fully recognised through the programme.
Currently only 165 WR Rugby Instructors are available in the Asian region.
