Kandy SC had to put out an extra effort to beat Army SC by 19-9 in their second round match of the Dialog Division ‘A’ Inter-Club Rugby League Tournament played at Ratmalana today (6).
Kandy, playing without their injured skipper Fazil Marija and winger Lavanga Perera, were made to fight by the Soldiers as they led the halftime by 12-0.
Kandy scored from three tries and two conversions.
Army scored from three penalties.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
