The Ministry of Sports has instructed the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) to push back its Annual General Meeting (AGM) due to legal aspects. The SLRFU in a an official statement said that the Director General of Department of Sports Development has instructed them officially in this regard. “This is to inform you that the Union has received Instructions from Director General, Department of Sports Development that Hon. Minister of Tourism and Sports has already sought legal opinion under certain Sports Regulations of No. 1973/3 dated 15-01-2013 from Attorney General’s Department. Until receipt of the legal opinion from Attorney General’s Department requested the Union to postpone the election,” the SLRFU statement said. “Therefore the scheduled Annual General Meeting of the SLRFU on March 7, 2015 will be postponed. A new date of the Annual General Meeting will be advised shortly,” it added.
