Rugby: SLRU names two squads for Borneo 7s

Sri Lanka Rugby Union (SLRU) named two squads of 12 players each -- men and women -- for the upcoming Borneo Sevens Rugby Sevens which will take place in Borneo, Malaysia come next weekend. 

The Sri Lanka Men's Sevens side will be led by Danushka Ranjan, the Kandy SC winger, who has been a regular member of the squad for the past several years. 

The squad of 12 for the invitational competition also includes Sevens experts Srinath Sooriyabandara, former skipper Sudarshana Muthuthanthri, Jason Dissanayaka and up and coming stars Kevin Dixon, Omalka Gunaratne, Reeza Raffaideen and Richard Dharmapala. 

The side will come under the watchful eyes of former New Zealand Sevens player Peter Woods, who replaces Englishman Mathew Turner as Head Coach. 

This tournament will be considered by SLRU as a prelude and warm up for Sri Lanka's next big assignment, the World Rugby Sevens Qualifiers which will be held in Hong Kong from April 7 to 9. 

Sudath Sampath's Women's Sevens side will be led by Randika Kumudumali. The side includes a set of experienced players in the Sevens circuit and are expected to gain important exposure before their
