Sri Lanka lost to South Korea 7-24 in the third place playoff in the ARFU Asian Sevens Rugby Series held in Beijing, China last weekend. After beating Kazakhstan 24-12 and Singapore 43-0 in the group stage to top Pool ‘B’ on Saturday (5), Sri Lanka qualified to meet Malaysia in the Cup quarter-final on Sunday (6). The Tuskers went on to defeat Malaysian 31-10 and qualified to take on China in the semi-final. China beat Sri Lanka 22-12 to enter final before losing to Japan in the first leg of the ARFU Asian Sevens Series.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
