Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) named a 12-member squad under the leadership of Sudarshana Muthuthanthri for the upcoming Borneo Eagles 7s Rugby Championship to be held in Malaysia.
Among the experienced campaigners in the side alongside Muthuthanthri are Kavindu Perera, Tarinda Ratwatte, Chanaka Chandimal, Danush Dayan, Sudam Sooriyaarachchi, Kevin Dixon, Rehan Silva and Buddhima Piyaratne.
The SLR selectors have brought in two newcomers to the side, Adeesha Weeratunga and Sithum Peiris.
Weeratunga, a former Isipathana College player, is the current flanker of Navy SC while Peiris turns out for Havelocks SC.
Regulars Jason Dissanayake, Srinath Sooriyabandara, and Richard Dharmapala have been rested ahead of the Commonwealth Games 2018 in April.
Last year Sri Lanka emerged Plate runners-up at Borneo Eagles 7s.
