Sri Lanka will take on Philippines in the Plate final in the first leg of the Asian 7s Rugby Series at Kings Park in Hong Kong today (2).
Sri Lanka faced China in the fourth Cup quarterfinal earlier on today but lost 12-36 as the Tuskers were slotted in the Plate semi-finals against Malaysia.
After thrashing Malaysia by 45-0 Sri Lanka reached the Plate final where they will meet Philippines, who beat Chinese Taipei by 29-5 in the other semi-final.
On Friday (1) Sri Lanka recorded a thumping win against Chinese Taipei, 52-7, but lost to Japan by 5-33 and to South Korea by 14-24 after a close fight.
Japan and hosts Hong Kong have qualified for the Cup championship final.
