Scrabble: All-Island Senior Citizens Tournament on October 28

The All Island Senior Citizens Scrabble Tournament, conducted annually by the Sri Lanka Association of Senior Citizens, will be held at the Amethyst Room, Colombo Hilton on October 28 .

Play will be conducted in two categories. Contestants for the championship will be the “A” category and play according to the Collins scrabble dictionary while “B” players will use the words from the Oxford English Dictionary.

The Deshmanya Clara Motwani Challenge Cup will be awarded to the winner of "A" category and the Rajathi Kandasamy Cup to the winner of the “B” group.

Tickets can be obtained from Mrs. Farida Akbarally, 28 Clifford Road, Bambalapitiya or Mrs. Indrani Atukorale at 102/1. Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 7 (Phone: 2696993).

Tickets are priced at Rs. 800/-

Prizes for the best Game and the Word Score will be awarded and also Spot Prizes at each of the games that will be played.
