The Sri Lanka National Shooting team led by Brigadier D.S.D. Welikala began their mission at the 12th International Metallic Silhouette Shooting Union (IMSSU) at Bloemfontein in South Africa on Saturday (2).
The eight-member Sri Lanka team left the country last week to take part in the competition, which will be held up to July 16.
Over 150 participants from 14 countries will be vying for honours at this 15-day event.
Eight members from the Sri Lanka National Rifle Federation were named for the event of which five are from the Sri Lanka Army.
C.S. Ratnayake is the manager of the team.
