Seam-bowling allrounder Dasun Shanaka replaces Niroshan Dickwella, who was handed a two-match ban by the ICC following an incident which took place in the second game at Geelong.
Kusal Mendis will keep wickets for Sri Lanka.
Australia has recalled Adam Zampa in place of Andrew Tye.
Sri Lanka leads the three-match series 2-0.
