Fast bowler Dhammika Prasad, who sustained an injury during the first warm-up match of Sri Lanka's tour of England, will lose the Test series and may be replaced according to team sources.
After his injury Prasad has not tried out bowling at nets and is likely to miss the first two Tests against England as the precise nature of his injury is yet to be determined.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officially stated earlier that Prasad's injury is unknown and even the tests conducted have proved 'inconclusive'.
Prasad will undergo another test today before the team management decides on his potential for the rest of the Test series.
Prasad, who is certainly out of the first two Tests, has not been able to bowl at practice sessions due to his injury up to now since the first day of the first warm-up game played two weeks ago.
The situation leaves Sri Lanka to name a replacement to Prasad whose place will likely go to right-armer Kasun Rajitha or left-armer Vishwa Fernando.
