South Africa was bowled out for 286 by Sri Lanka fast bowlers during the first session of the second day's play of the first Test between the two sides at St. George's Park in Port Elizabeth a short while ago.
Resuming from their overnight score of 267-6 the Proteas could not last long as they were only able to add 19 runs to the total, losing wickets in quick sessions.
Overnight batsman Quinton de Kock added 12 runs to his tally before being dismissed as the last wicket during South Africa's first innings.
JP Duminy top scored for the home side with an elegant knock of 63 off 95 balls, inclusive of ten fours and opener Stephen Cook faced 125 deliveries to hit 59 with seven fours.
Speedster Suranga Lakmal claimed his best career figures with 5 for 63.
Left arm spinner Rangana Herath and fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep claimed two wickets each.
South Africa won the toss and elected to bat.
