Mihiliya Methsarani of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Balika Vidyalaya won her fourth successive Junior National Squash championship in the Under-19 Girls event while Shamil Wakeel of D.S. Senanayake College won the Boys title of the same age group at the 26th Junior National Squash Championship concluded at the Sugathadasa Stadium Squash courts on Saturday (12).
Sameera Deen and Heshan Balasooriya were adjudged the Most Promising Players in the Girls and Boys categories respectively for their high standard of squash displayed to win the Under-15 championships.
Chanithma Sinlay too showed her prowess by emerging champion in the Girls Under-11 and Under-13 age groups.
Sameera Deen who won the Under-15 age category won the Most Promising Girls’ Player award while the Boys category of the prize went to Heshan Balasooriya , from the same age group.
