Colombo Commandos overcame Kandy Crusaders by 9 runs in the sixth match of the SLC Super Twenty20 Championship played at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Friday (29).
Put into bat first, Commandos piled up 182-5 and Crusaders were restricted to 173-6, falling short of the target by ten runs.
For Commandos opener Dhananjaya de Silva hit an unbeaten 80 off 59 deliveries inclusive of nine fours and a six with Dasun Shanaka hitting a cameo 31 off 12 deliveries with four sixes.
Sachithra Senanayake captured three scalps.
Crusaders could not keep up to their momentum as they lost wickets at regular intervals.
Lahiru Thrimanne (37), TN Sampath (32), Thissara Perera (32), Angelo Perera (24), and Ajantha Mendis (20n.o.) hit useful knocks which eventually was insufficient for Crusaders’ win.
Kasun Rajitha took three wickets.
