Colombo Commandos recorded a thrilling 3-wicket win against Galle Guardians in an absorbing SLC Super Twenty20 Cricket Championship match played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday (26).
Put into bat first Galle Guardians piled up 162-6 with Kithruwan Vithanage smashing 53 off 32 deliveries inclusive of four boundaries and two sixes.
Colombo Commandos, after being bolstered by two half centuries by openers Niroshan Dickwella and Dhananjaya de Silva, reached the winning target with two deliveries to spare.
Dickwella smashed 51 off 35 deliveries inclusive of seven fours and a six, and his partner de Dilva made an identical 51 after facing 41 deliveries and hitting three fours and two sixes.
Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera grabbed four wickets while Isuru Udana picked two scalps.
For Guardians, opener Udara Jayasundera hit 45 off 32 deliveries inclusive of five fours and two sixes.
Kasun Rajitha and Upul Indrasiri picked two wickets each.
On Wednesday (27) two matches are scheduled to be played with Colombo Commandos and Hambantota Troopers playing each other followed by the game between Galle Guardians and Kurunegala Warriors.
