Super T20: Guardians beat Crusaders by 3 wickets

Galle Guardians beat Kandy Crusaders by 3 wickets in the seventh match of the SLC Super Twenty20 Cricket Championship played at the R. Premadasa Stadium today (30).

Put into bat first Crusaders posted 178-6 and Guardians reached the target losing seven wickets with six deliveries remaining. 

Crusaders skipper Lahiru Thirimanne top scored for his side with a 45-ball knock of 61 which also included four boundaries and two sixes.

Jeevan Mendis smashed an unbeaten 40 off just 14 deliveries after hitting three boundaries and four sixes. 

Skipper Suraj Randiv, Dilhara Lokuhettige  and Ajantha Mendis took two wickets each. 

Guardians openers Dilshan Munaweera and Lahiru Milantha put on 64 runs making their run chase easy as they too lost wickets at regular intervals. 

Milantha top scored with a 24-ball knock of 41 which had five fours and a six as Munaweera smashed 33 off 13 deliveries hitting three fours and three sixes. 

Skipper Dinesh Chandimal hit 34 off 35 balls with two fours as Dilhara Lokuhettige remained unbeaten on 24 off 15 deliveries with a four and two sixes. 

Spinners Sachithra Senanayake and Jeevan Mendis took two wickets each.
