Table Tennis: Two top tournaments in Jaffna in December

In December Jaffna table tennis fans will be able to witness two top Table Tennis championships to be worked off at the Central College tables, Jaffna from December 19 to 22.

The first will be the 3rd All Island Unranked TT Championship and the second to take place will be the All Island State Services TT Championship.

The All Island (unranked) Table Tennis Championship will take place at the Central College Jaffna tables from December 19 to 20, organised and conducted by the Asian German Sports Exchange Programme in collaboration with the Jaffna Table Tennis Association on the following events:

(1) Boys and Girls Under 8 Singles, (2) Boys and Girls Under 10 Singles, (3) Boys and Girls Under 12 Singles, (5) Boys and Girls Under 15 Singles, (6) Boys and Girls Under 18 Singles, (7) Boys and Girls Under 21 Singles, (8) Veteran Men’s and Women’s Singles (over 40 years), (9) Men’s and Women’s Singles.

Entries will close on November 25 and should be sent to Chandana Perera – Chairman Organising Committee, No. 51/35, Rukmale, Pannipitiya (Tel: 0777751345/0714472400).

Draw will be held at the S. Thomas’ Indoor Stadium, Mt. Lavinia on December 5.

On December 21 and 22 the All Island State Services Knockout Table Tennis Championship 2015 will be held at the same venue conducted by the Sri Lanka State Services Table Tennis Association.

This tournament will be conducted in both Men’s and Women’s categories Singles on the age groups of: 20-25 years, 25-30 years, 30-35 years, 35-40 years, 40-45 years, 45-50 years, 50-55 years and 55-60 years.

The Doubles championship is to be conducted for both Men’s and women’s in the age groups of: 20-30, 30-40, 40-50 and 50-60 years with Doubles partners has to be from the same department.

The draw will be held at the Kandy Municipal Sports Club on December 30 at 4.00 p.m.
