The annual Sri Lanka Tennis National Championship, which will be held for the 101st time, with the Junior segment set to begin on Saturday (5), followed by the Senior segment, coming Friday (12).
The tournament will be held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts at Greenpath in Colombo.
"We expect all the best tennis players in the country to take part in this Super ‘A’ Grade tournament which is the most important event in the national tennis calender. This tournament will be the launching pad for the careers of a number of young players," Tournament Director, Udith Wickramasinghe stated.
The Junior Nationals will be conducted for boys and girls in Under-10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 age categories.
In the Senior Nationals, categories will be held in Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Veterans and Wheelchair.
Matches will be played from 2.30pm on weekdays and from 8.00am on weekends.
The event is sponsored by Britannia, Janashakthi Insurance, Perera and Sons, Salonpas and Dunlop.
