Indonesia beat Sri Lanka 5-0 to remain in the Group-II of the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone in the 2016 Relegation Play-off played at the Gelora Manahan Tennis Stadium Complex in Surakarta, Indonesia on Sunday (17).
The outcome will push Sri Lanka to the Group-III of the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone in 2017.
In March Thailand beat Sri Lanka 3-2 in the Davis Cup first round zonal tie making their outing against Indonesia crucial.
Under non-playing captain Rohan de Silva, Sri Lanka fielded newcomers to Davis Cup tennis, Yasitha de Silva and Nishangan Nadaraja while Sri Lanka's most experienced player in Davis Cup, Harshana Godamanna, was off colour during the comeptition.
Sharmal Dissanayake and Thangarajah Dineshkanthan were not featured in the against Indonesia, despite traveling with the team.
