The Sri Lanka Under-16 Girls' tennis team reached the Top 10 in the Junior Fed Cup Asia-Oceania Zone Qualifying Competition 2018 held in Kuching, Malaysia.
The qualifying competition, conducted by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) was held from April 16 to 22.
The local girls -- Anjalika Kurera, Savini Jayasuriya, Oneli Perera and Senuri Alexander -- managed to help Sri Lanka finish ahead the much fancied India and New Zealand.
Sri Lanka won against Singapore, Mongolia and Malaysia but lost to Uzbekistan, Indonesia and Japan to reach the overall 10th slot and earn a slot in the Fed Cup Qualifying Round Competition 2019.
