Heshan Dhanushka guided Isipathana College to the final of the Under-17 Division I cricket tournament when he slammed an unbeaten 131 in 101 balls inclusive of five boundaries and ten towering sixes helping his side record an emphatic 7-wicket win over St. Sebastian’s College in the semi-final played at R. Premadasa Stadium on Saturday (22). The rain affected match was reduced to 42 overs. Heshan’s knock enabling Isipathana, chasing a revised Duckworth/Lewis target of 258 runs, to romp home winners in the 39th over. Earlier Avishka Fernando slammed a quick-fire 101 in 82 balls which included nine boundaries and half a dozen sixes for St. Sebastian’s to end their innings making a score of 225 for 6 which proved to be insufficient. Isipathana will meet Ananda College in the final scheduled to be played on August 27 at the same venue.
