St. Peter’s College ‘B’ came out on top against St. Sebastian’s ‘B’ in the final of the Under-17 Inter-School Division II cricket final by 4 wickets played at the Thurstan ground to emerge champions.
During the closely contested final St Sebastian’s ‘B’ taking first lease of the wicket lost early wicket.
Shane Fernando came to their rescue with a well timed knock of 68 and with support from Dishen de Mel and Dimithra Perera managed to end their innings with a respectable score of 196.
St. Peter’s ‘B’ in their run chase too underwent some anxious moments when they lost two quick wickets when the inning was only four overs old.
Himsara Ranadeni who made a captains knock of 80 along with Mayura Samarawickrama and Nirosh Perera who both made useful knocks saw the Petes through and raced to the target in the 48th.
