U-19 Cricket: S. Thomas' celebrate their dream season with a tour to England

The S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia First XI cricket team left the island for the tour of United Kingdom on Friday (31). 

This tour is a reward for the successful cricket season. 

They won the Battle of the Blues after 12 years and also they won the emerging All-Island Limited Overs Cricket champions. 

In addition, the team led by Sithara Hapuhinna, was also runner-up in the All-Island 2-Day Tournament, won the All-Island best team for consecutive years and won the Chappell brothers Trophy in Australia. 

The tour is sponsored by the Old Boys Association UK and Old Boys Association Sri Lanka.
 
The touring S. Thomas' cricket squad will include Sithara Hapuhinna (Captain), Kalana Perera (Vice Captain), Dellon Peiris, Shanon Fernando, Kishan Munasinha, Shalin de Mel, Yohan Perera, Ravindu de Silva, Umayanga Suwaris, Ryan Fernando, Dilmin Ratnayake, Gavin Botheju, Shamilka Wickramathilake, Deon Fernando, Shehan Silva and Tehan Schaffter.

The team will be accompanied by officials -- Revd. Marc Billiomoria (Warden), Dinesh Kumarasinghe (Director Cricket), Dilshan Mendis (1st XI Assistant Coach), Lasith Randunu (1st XI Coach), Ariyapala Fernando (Ground Staff), Yohan Mendis (MIC) and Thevin Eriyagama (Secretary).
 
The Thomians will play matches against Sussex County U19s, Harrow School, Eton College, Oxford CC, King’s College, Taunton, Millfield College, Taunton and Whitgift College, Croydon. 

They are scheduled to return on June 17.

June 2: vs Sussex U19 at Middleton CC (40 overs)

June 4: vs Harrow School at Harrow (50 overs)

June 5: vs Eton at Windsor (T20)

June 6: vs Oxford CC at Oxford (T20)

June 8: vs Kings College at Taunton (50 overs)

June 9: vs Millfield Schools at Taunton (50 overs)

June 12: vs Whitgift School at Croydon (40 overs)
