A clinical and committed performance by a perfect Royal College team defeated a spirited Trinity College team 34-17 in the first leg of the 75th Bradby Shield encounter played at Pallekele.
The first half was keenly contested by both sides as Royal held on to a narrow 15-12 lead at halftime.
Eventually Royal dominated the show after the turnaround to finish off with a tally of five tries, three conversions and a penalty.
Trinity scored from three tries and two conversions.
