Hong Kong handsomely beat Sri Lanka 37-8 in the first leg of the Asia Junior Rugby Championship at the Racecourse ground in Colombo on Sunday (10).
Sri Lanka went out with the intention of pulling out a win, which would qualify them for the Junior World Rugby Championship (JWRC), but was thwarted neatly by Hong Kong, who scored off seven tries and a conversion.
Hong Kong led 22-3 at halftime.
Sri Lanka scored from an unconverted try and a penalty.
The two teams will lock horns again on December 17 in Kowloon, Hong Kong in the second leg of the duel.
