St. Joseph's College made a gallant fight back to overcome Isipathana College 34-29 in a highly competitive Singer Schools Rugby League Championship 2018 match at Havelock Park on Sunday (10).
With the win the Josephians secured the Singer Schools League runners-up position next to Royal College, while pushing St. Peter's College to overall third position.
At halftime Isipathana had already gained momentum on their early onslaught and were leading by 20-17.
The Green Shirts were still in the lead by 29-27 after the Josephians made a dramatic fight back and took the control and lead of the game with just five minutes to fulltime.
St. Joseph's scored from four converted tries and two penalties.
Isipathana scored from four tries, three conversions and a penalty.
