U-19 Rugby: St. Peter's beat Isipathana in incident filled game

Sport

An ugly scene marred the Singer Schools Rugby League Championship encounter after St. Peter’s College came out victorious 20-14 against Isipathana College when some spectators manhandled a touch judge and in the melee empty bottles were thrown bringing the game to disrepute at Havelock Park.

However, the Peterites were the better team and they deserved to win having dominated the first session of proceedings to take the lead at the lemons 15-9.

St. Peter's scored from three tries, a conversion and a penalty.

Isipathana scored from an unconverted try and three penalties.
